TABERNACLE 2024

“All whose hearts were stirred and whose spirits were moved came and brought their sacred offerings to the Lord. They brought all the materials needed for the Tabernacle, for the performance of its rituals, and for the sacred garments. Both men and women came, all whose hearts were willing. They brought to the Lord their offerings of gold—brooches, earrings, rings from their fingers, and necklaces. They presented gold objects of every kind as a special offering to the Lord.” – Exodus 35: 21-22

The vision of the tabernacle offering comes from Exodus 25-35, where Moses collects a freewill offering from the people of Israel to build the Tabernacle. As their hearts were moved and stirred to give, the Israelites came forward to bring their offerings – gold, bronze, silver, jewelry and linens – to help build the Tabernacle to house the presence of God.

This year’s theme for the Tabernacle Offering is “Entering a New Chapter.” The journey of Beloved Church over the past three years has been remarkable. We began in a friend’s living room, moved to the Casa Bella Event Center in Anaheim, and finally settled at the Krikorian in Buena Park. Through it all, we’ve seen God’s guiding hand over our community. Recently, with the ordination of our first four elders and new dreams taking shape for the year ahead, we sense God leading us into a new season—a season where our roots grow deeper into the foundation that’s been laid over these past three years.

This year, we have two initiatives for our Tabernacle Offering:

Facilities Expansion

In response to our growth and needs, we have been asking God to expand our facilities to accommodate the vision and growth of our church! As we have been stewarding our space at Krikorian on Sundays, we are believing and preparing for a space that can be used for the many things that God has put on our hearts including:

  • Larger seating capacity for Sunday Services

  • Larger Next Gen spaces for our kids and youth

  • Weekly space to re-launch our Behold House of Prayer

  • Multipurpose space for church events and discipleship pathways

We currently have two potential opportunities that would allow us to have access to a space and facility for our growing community. We want to invite you to prayerfully consider giving to help Beloved expand facilities as a new chapter begins.

Olive Crest

This year, we wanted to get behind Olive Crest to support their programs and initiatives that are dedicated to preventing child abuse by strengthening, equipping, and restoring children and families in crisis. Since its founding in 1973, Olive Crest has provided safe homes, counseling, and education to thousands of at-risk children and their families across California, Nevada, and the Pacific Northwest.

In addition to raising funds to support Olive Crest, we will be participating in their “Be the Miracle Toy Drive”! We want to invite you to help spread joy by bringing brand new toys, books and giftcards for foster children and youth this holiday season.

Toy Drive Details:

  • Gifts will be collected until Sunday, December 15.

  • Drop off gifts in the “Olive Crest Toy Drive” bin in the lobby on Sundays.

  • Gift collection is for ages 0-18 years.

  • We request brand new toys, books and gift cards.

FAQs for Stock and Crypto:

Still have questions? Please send an email to give@thebelovedchurch.com and someone will reach out to you within 2-3 business days.

  • Donating stock can be one of the most tax-efficient ways to give. By donating appreciated stock that you've held for over a year, you could potentially save in capital gains taxes and deduct the charitable donation on your federal income taxes. To understand the full tax benefits of giving appreciated stock, please consult with your tax professional.

  • When donors give appreciated stock, the shares are transferred from the donors’ brokerage account directly to Beloved Church's brokerage account. As Beloved Church is a qualifying non-profit, if the donor has held the stock for more than one year, the donor does not have to pay tax on the capital gain. In addition, the full value (or fair market value) of the donated stock is the amount of the charitable donation donors can claim on their individual income tax return.

  • Immediately after submitting your donation, you will receive an email confirmation of your gift. Stock transactions take 2-14 days to reach our account depending on the sending and receiving brokerages that are involved in the process. Once we receive your gift, the nonprofit will send you an IRS-compliant acknowledgment letter that you can use to itemize the charitable deduction on your taxes.

  • Currently, the Overflow platform can facilitate the donation of publicly-traded stock. This includes common stock, employee stock options, restricted stock units, and employee stock purchase plans. Overflow does not currently facilitate donations of mutual funds or fractional shares.

  • File Form 8283 for the 1040 tax return. To calculate how much to deduct from your taxes, the general rule of thumb is to deduct the fair market value which is the average of the high/low price of the stock on the day it was received by the nonprofit. This is for assets you’ve held for more than a year. The date the stock was received by the Beloved Church can be found in the acknowledgment letter you receive from us. Include this letter in your tax return.
